Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 for Rugby Clubs

This Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 qualification (EFAW) is ideal for those involved with Rugby Clubs – either as players, coaches or supporters. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2017 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2016 changes.

This course not only covers the complete EFAW syllabus but also includes additional topics such as sprains, strains, fractures, head and spinal injuries, and more.

  • Anyone interested in acquiring life-saving skills

All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements. It may be delivered as a RQF or VTQ version. The Vocational Training Qualification (VTQ) version is fully recognised by the HSE as a Trade Body Qualification.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement.

Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (4 hours virtual class)

Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition either themselves or a family member, friend or colleague.

This awareness course is suitable for everyone as it provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.

This 4 hour course provides an insight into Mental Health issues in the Workplace and students will learn how to understand the issues and recognise when somebody needs support within their workplace. It also gives signposting advice

Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a  First Aider for mental health.

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health.

First Aid for Mental Health (1 day)

This course is suitable for everyone but has been designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace and to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected.

Learners undertaking this course will be considered First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact within the workplace to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition.

Building on the Level 1/4 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health this course introduces the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan which allows learners to provide their peers with comprehensive guidance and support for a suspected mental health condition. Learners will be able to provide signposting to professional help and support that person whilst they are receiving professional assistance.

This course also covers the effects of drugs and alcohol and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to assist employers in implementing a positive mental health culture to support employees within a workplace.

Certification


Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)/Award in First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 5. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years.

Assessment


The qualification is assessed through both a practical demonstration of the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and a multiple-choice question paper. A Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.

+F Forestry add-on

This 1-2-hour course is available as an add-on to either the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work or the 3-day First Aid at Work course. It is not available as a standalone course.

It includes the extra subjects required by the Forestry Commission – namely severe cuts (e.g. chainsaws), crush injuries, Hypothermia and Lyme Disease.

First Aid at Work Requalification Level 3

This First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) requalification (FAW-R) is ideal if your Certificate has not yet expired or is expired for less than a month. You can requalify your First Aid at Work qualification in two days rather than three. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2017 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2016 changes.

All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2017 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2016 changes.

All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements. It may be delivered as a RQF or VTQ version. The Vocational Training Qualification (VTQ) version is fully recognised by the HSE as a Trade Body Qualification.
